(Huntsville) Open mic on Monday EXCEPT the 1st Monday of each month. (On that 1st Monday, enjoy the silver voice of Dave "Sinatra" McConnell.) Open mic runs 7pm to 11pm. KUDOS TO STELLAS AND CARTER: THEY HAVE A HOUSE GUITAR, MULTIPLE MICS FOR BACKING VOCALS AND THEY DO ALLOW THE SPOKEN WORD FOR ALL YOU POETS OUT THERE. (Huntsville) Tuesdays starting at 8pm. They typically do not list the open mic under their Facebook events calendar, but a post is usually added to their feed the day of. SPECIAL KUDOS TO THE BAR at 805 AND THE HOST: You can do a traditional solo open mic or THERE ARE DRUMS, BASS, ELECTRIC GUITAR, ACOUSTIC GUITAR AND 2 VOCAL MICS set up and ready for a full sound rock'n fun time. (Toney) Jam Tuesday at 7pm. It's a "Friendly neighborhood beer bar full of surprises". FMI

Copper Top Dive N Dine, Host: Mike Laws

(Huntsville) Wednesday 8-11pm. An active open mic with drink specials from this long running bar. You'll find almost weekly posts about the open mic in their Facebook feed. FMI

Gold Sprint Coffee, Host: Musician Wanda Wesolowski

(Huntsville) 1st Thursday of the month. Sign up at 6, and runs 7-10. In addition to serving yummy coffee, they offer beer and have a full bar. Named by as “the best venue that’s not usually a music venue”. Hosted by musician Wanda Wesolowski of The Wanda Band. They are an all ages open mic. FMI

Voodoo Lounge Bar & Grill, Host: Musicians Scott Key and April Pendergrass

(Huntsville) Thursdays, 9:30pm-1am. It's normally not on their events calendar - perhaps because it's been a 'thing' since the big bang. Everyone knows about it! :) You might go and experience solo musicians (both amateurs and pros), poets, rappers and full bands. You never know what's in store. Voodoo seems to have the (unique) ability to draw musicians from out of town (e.g., Birmingham, Montgomery, the Shoals, Nashville and Atlanta) just for their open mic. Located in the heart of downtown, Voodoo is gritty, small and intimate with full bar and bar food. It's probably got more live music per square foot than any other venue in Huntsville. KUDOS TO VOODOO: they supply drums, bass and electric guitar. FMI

Voodoo Lounge Bar & Grill, Host: Lance Almon Smith with James Irvin and Matt Ross

(Huntsville) Sunday night Blues Jam starts at 9pm! In the heart of downtown. Gritty, smaller and intimate live music venue | full bar | bar food. Probably more live music per square foot than any other venue in Huntsville. FMI

The Open Bottle (Madison), Host: Kelly Joyner and Luna Koi

(Madison) 2nd to last Sunday of the month, 5-8pm. They focus on ORIGINAL SONGS, but covers are welcome. Yeah! Their goal: grow a community of artists who encourage and support each other in the songwriting journey. Madison's The Open Bottle is a specialty package store and bar offering craft beer, wine, and fine spirits. FMI
